"Electricity Silk Road" erects energy interconnection "high-speed road"

At present, the global smart grid network with UHV transmission as the backbone and coordinated development of power grids at all levels is accelerating the construction of relevant countries and regions in the “Belt and Road”. Up to now, China has achieved grid interconnection with neighboring countries such as Laos and Vietnam, and successful practice in UHV technology has also made it possible to connect transnational and transcontinental power. The “Power Silk Road” is gradually setting up a global energy network interconnection "high way"

The construction of the global energy internet is advancing rapidly. Recently, a centralized signing ceremony with the theme of global energy internet and the construction of the “Belt and Road” was held in Beijing. The Global Energy Internet Development Cooperation Organization (hereinafter referred to as the "Cooperative Organization") initiated by China and the UN-Habitat, UNESCO, ESCWA, WMO, Moscow Power Institute, Ethiopian Ministry of Energy and GCC The Power Grid Administration signed 6 cooperation agreements to jointly promote the development of the “One Belt, One Road” energy internet. At the same time, the cooperative organization officially released the first "Belt and Road" Energy Internet Construction Plan.

Building an energy community

The Global Energy Internet is known as the "highway" of global clean energy transmission, and it is the basic platform for the large-scale development, transmission, and use of clean energy on a global scale. Academician Huang Qili of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said that it is the right time to accelerate the construction of the global energy Internet, which is in the common interest of all countries in the world. The means of implementation is to build a global smart grid network with UHV transmission as the backbone and coordinated the development of power grids at all levels.

The countries and regions related to the “Belt and Road” are rich in clean energy resources. The data shows that the reserves of hydropower, solar energy, and wind energy in Asia and Africa account for 58%, 65%, and 58% of the world respectively. How to make good use of this "wealth" to transform resource advantages into economic advantages? The cooperative organization research proposed the first “Belt and Road” energy internet construction plan to create a green, low-carbon, interconnected, and mutually beneficial energy community.

"Building a global energy Internet will fundamentally solve major challenges such as lack of resources, environmental pollution, climate change, and healthy poverty, and create a new engine and a new platform for accelerating the construction of the "Belt and Road"," said Liu Zhenya, chairman of the cooperative organization.
At the first "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum in 2017, the cooperation organization signed 5 cooperation agreements with the UN Department of Economics and Social Affairs, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the African Union, the Arab League, and the GCC Power Grid Authority. Summit Forum results in the list.

Two years later, the contents of the cooperation agreement have been fully implemented. Among them, the global energy Internet is included in the working framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Beijing Declaration of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum.

Up to now, the cooperative organization has established partnerships with governments, organizations, enterprises, institutions, and universities in more than 80 countries and regions, and signed more than 30 cooperation agreements, covering the global energy Internet idea dissemination, basic research, project construction, etc. Aspects. The number of member organizations of the cooperative organization reached 635, covering 93 countries (regions) on 5 continents, including 26 Fortune 500 companies.
