The construction of the global energy internet is advancing rapidly. Recently, a centralized signing ceremony with the theme of global energy internet and the construction of the “Belt and Road” was held in Beijing. The Global Energy Internet Development Cooperation Organization (hereinafter referred to as the "Cooperative Organization") initiated by China and the UN-Habitat, UNESCO, ESCWA, WMO, Moscow Power Institute, Ethiopian Ministry of Energy and GCC The Power Grid Administration signed 6 cooperation agreements to jointly promote the development of the “One Belt, One Road” energy internet. At the same time, the cooperative organization officially released the first "Belt and Road" Energy Internet Construction Plan.
Building an energy community
The Global Energy Internet is known as the "highway" of global clean energy transmission, and it is the basic platform for the large-scale development, transmission, and use of clean energy on a global scale. Academician Huang Qili of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said that it is the right time to accelerate the construction of the global energy Internet, which is in the common interest of all countries in the world. The countries and regions related to the “Belt and Road” are rich in clean energy resources. The data shows that the reserves of hydropower, solar energy, and wind energy in Asia and Africa account for 58%, 65%, and 58% of the world respectively. At the first "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum in 2017, the cooperation organization signed 5 cooperation agreements with the UN Department of Economics and Social Affairs, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the African Union, the Arab League, and the GCC Power Grid Authority. Two years later, the contents of the cooperation agreement have been fully implemented. Up to now, the cooperative organization has established partnerships with governments, organizations, enterprises, institutions, and universities in more than 80 countries and regions, and signed more than 30 cooperation agreements, covering the global energy Internet idea dissemination, basic research, project construction, etc. Aspects. The number of member organizations of the cooperative organization reached 635, covering 93 countries (regions) on 5 continents, including 26 Fortune 500 companies.
